ALBANY, Ga. – In order to address the need of fighting against breast cancer head-on, Phoebe Putney Health System is offering 100 free mammograms to women in Southwest Georgia.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women. The American Cancer Society estimates that nearly 40,000 women will lose their battle with the disease in this year.
The mammograms will be provided to the first 100 eligible women who make appointments at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s Carlton Breast Health Center. To be considered for one of the free mammograms, each applicant must have a primary care physician, be over the age of 40, not have had a mammogram in the last 12 months, not be experiencing any breast problems, be uninsured, not be pregnant and live in Phoebe’s service area.
Call (229) 312-4800 to schedule an appointment at Phoebe’s Carlton Breast Health Center.
