Albany, Ga. – Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital recently celebrated as it received its award from Healthgrades for being ranked No. 1 in vascular surgery in Georgia for 2013.
“I could not be more proud of our entire heart and vascular team, and I commend them on their pursuit of excellence,” says Joel Wernick, president and CEO of Phoebe Putney Health System. “Such excellence serves notice to our patients throughout the region that Phoebe Putney is committed to being the leader in quality patient care.”
Phoebe is ranked No. 1 in Georgia for vascular surgery according to American Hospital Quality Outcomes 2013: Healthgrades Report to the Nation. Healthgrades independently measures hospitals based on data that hospitals submit to the federal government. No hospital can opt in or out of being measured, and no hospital pays to be measured.
“I believe that the vascular surgery team’s focus on quality initiatives has been key in achieving this recognition,” says Dan Martin, MD, medical director of the vascular program. “We are protocol driven because we know improvement requires consistency. A team approach to care allows us to manage cases with clinical outcomes in mind.”
“This award recognizes the tremendous leadership and dedication to improving the quality of care for the patients that choose Phoebe,” says Jason Mione of Healthgrades. “I think we can all agree that the real winners are the patients and community that this hospital serves.”
