Behavioral Health Support Groups

Serious illness affects patients as well as their loved ones. Phoebe offers support groups that promote a mutually respectful environment where individuals can share their experiences. Many of these support groups are free and open to the public.

Behavioral Health Center Aftercare

This meeting is open to patients who have received services at Phoebe's Behavioral Health Center. This group is time-limited. For more information, please call

Behavioral Health Center Family Support Group

This meeting is open to family members of patients who have received treatment on the Behavioral Health inpatient unit. This group is time-limited. For more information, please call (229) 312-4960. 

Bereavement Support Group

Albany Community Hospice has support groups for individuals who have lost a loved one. These are offered primarily for our patient's families but are also open to the community. There is no charge for attending and the group meets once a week for six weeks. Registration is required. Meetings are held at Albany Community Hospice, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA. Breast Cancer Support Group 

This group is open to and offers support for women with breast cancer. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month from Noon - 1:45 p.m. in the Radiation Oncology Conference Room at Phoebe. The support group is free of charge. For more information, please call (229) 312-0042.

Camp Good Grief

This is a two-day grief camp for children held at Potter’s Community Center. It is typically held the first week in June and this year, 2013, it is scheduled for June 5-6. It is a day camp for children (completing kindergarten through fifth grades) who have experienced the death of a family member within the last one to three years. Camp Good Grief helps children with their grief-related issues through small-group activities, arts and crafts, team-building activities and land-sports fun. The camp is free of charge. Caregiver Support Group

This group is open to those providing support to patients suffering from serious illness. This group meets the third Wednesday of every month from Noon - 1 p.m. This support group is free of charge. For more information, please call (229) 312-2305.

Facing Cancer with Love and Laughter

Group support for anyone affected by cancer. The group meets the second Monday of each month from Noon - 1 p.m. in the Radiation Oncology Conference Room at Phoebe. This support group is free of charge. Call (229) 312-2305 for more information.

Grief Support Group

This group is open to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one. There is a six-week grief support group offered four times per year (typically one begins in January, March, June and October). Currently the six-week group alternates between days and evenings. The six-week grief support group is free of charge. Meetings are held at Albany Community Hospice, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA. For more information, please call (229) 312-7050. H.E.A.R.T. Prints Perinatal Bereavement Support Group for Parents in Grief

We invite you to experience the hope and encouragement that a group of parents can give each other as they walk through the season of sadness because of the death of their baby. H.E.A.R.T. Prints meets the first Thursday of each month. For more information, please call 1-855-439-0615.

Camp Journey

This is a two-day grief camp typically held the first week in June for teenagers who have experienced the death of a family member or close friend within the last one to three years. This day camp provides teens completing 6th through 12th grades with opportunities to talk about their grief with other teens who have lost loved ones and also have some fun together. The camp is free of charge. Parent's Grief Support Group

This group is open to parents who have lost a child of any age. Group members support each other and face their grief together. This meeting is free of charge and is held the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Albany Community Hospice, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA. Parkinson's Support Group

The group meets the second Tuesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. in conference room C at Phoebe Northwest. This group is free of charge. For more information, please call (229) 312-8700 or (229) 312-8739.

Pocket Angels Support Group

This group is open to and offers support for thos affected by ovarian cancer. The group meets every fourth Monday at 5 p.m. in the Cancer Survivorship Meeting Room at 910 North jefferson St. Suite E. This group is free of charge. For more information, please call (229) 312-7160.

Stroke Support Group

Meets first Thursday of every other month (except July and August) from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact Phoebe Outpatient Occupational Therapy at (229) 312-8710.

Women's Grief Support Groups

These groups are open to women who have experienced a loss. The daytime Women’s Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month from 12:30 - 2 p.m. The evening Women’s Support Group meets the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Both women’s groups meet at Albany Community Hospice, 320 Foundation, Albany, GA.
